Synopsis : In 2029, in a futuristic Japan governed by the Internet, Major Motoko Kusunagi, an ultra-sophisticated female cyborg, is left to wonder. In spite of herself, she is part of a cyber-police force with virtually unlimited resources to fight computer crime. As her section tracks down the 'Puppet Master', a legendary and mysterious hacker, she gives herself the task of analyzing his ghost (an element of consciousness that can be compared to the soul) in the hope of finding answers to her own existential questions.
